MY PROFILE

      My artwork links the world of Literature and Art. It is about the experience and memory of the Literature. My style is impressionistic, linking glimpses of a particular scene from literature, and visual memories of what would have been seen while reading the story. My book series takes the physical book and uses the pages to sculpt the story. The world of literature meets the world of art and is forever intermingled in a photograph.

       Other pieces involve taking pages from literature and painting directly on the page to create the scene. I love the look of the writing coming through the chosen medium. My work brings my love of art and literature and lets them compliment each other.

       My art also incorporates my love of travel. I have been on a journey that has taken me from the Netherlands to Germany, and beyond. I was a photojournalist for Eastern Mennonite Missions for a short term Go Assignment. I photographed the missionary families that are working in Europe; seeing how they are spreading the light around the globe.
